Guidelines for the 2010 Kris Frainie Scholarship Award
This year On Point will honor one outstanding senior with the Kris Frainie Scholarship Award. The recipient will receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to be applied to tuition at the college or university of his or her choice. To be considered, students must submit a completed application form and one letter of recommendation. Letters of recommendation can be from a teacher, On Point staff member, coach, etc. Submissions from relatives will not be accepted.
To be eligible, teens must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a high school senior
- Have at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)
- Demonstrate a commitment to their school, community and peers
- Be committed to abstaining from sex before marriage, drugs and alcohol, and violence
- Plans to enroll at a university, college or community college in 2009
- Will serve as an ambassador for On Point into their college career
All applications and application materials are due to the On Point office by Monday, February 15, 2010.

A panel of judges will review all nominations and select three finalists. Finalists must be available to interview on Thursday, February 25 at 6 p.m. The scholarship winner will be announced at On Point's Annual Fundraising Banquet at the Chattanooga Convention Center on March 16, 2010. Finalists will be notified before the event and will receive complimentary tickets for themselves and two guests to the event.
